Baked Bannock and Jam

Looking for something for the kids to do on their days off from school? Kitchen 49 is hosting a Truth and Reconciliation Day class where your kiddos can learn the importance of First Nations culture and traditional food.

In this class, Chef Maia will lead in baking traditional Bannock, and a simple refrigerator jam.

At the end of class, your child will learn:

  • The significance of bannock in Indigenous cultures

  • The importance of keeping a clean work space in the kitchen

  • Basic breads and spreads that they can make again at home

We are welcoming any children between the ages of 8 and 12 years old.

$20

Price includes all ingredients, instruction, recipe, and a small container of jam to take home with their bannock.
